Container – The Monday Club
Container and The Assembly Agency have launched a salon at their East London studio building. Called ‘The Monday Club’, the evening features talks and debate on hot topics as well as music, food, drinks and of course an immersive and interactive installation by Container.
The inaugural series of events focus on the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’. The first evening examined ‘Lust’ in its various forms, with talks by Sam Roddick (founder of ‘erotic emporium’, Coco de Mer) and author Hallie Rubenhold, who delighted the audience with tales from ‘Harris’s List of Covent Garden Ladies’ – an 18th century ‘guide book’ detailing the names and ‘specialities’ of the capital’s prostitutes. Visitors were also invited to confess their lustful sins to a wise and sympathetic Bordello Madam.
