Chris is a British photographer and filmmaker.

His photographic work has appeared in some of the world’s most highly respected publications, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Harpers Bazaar, GQ, Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine and Wallpaper* among others.

He has created advertising campaigns for Apple, British Airways, Haleon/GSK, Open University, The NHS, Sony and Philips, and has been selected several times for the National Portrait Gallery’s Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize and the annual publication, American Photography.

As a director, he has produced moving image commissions for Avis, Anthropologie, Mr Porter, Space NK, Topshop, UBS and Virgin Radio.

Chris is passionate about creating strong, compelling imagery that bears testament to each subject. His list of sitters read like a “Who’s Who” of film/music/sport/art/culture…. from Damien Hirst to Paul McCartney, Nicola Adams to Rooney Mara, Steve McQueen, David Attenborough, David Bowie, Robert de Niro, Jennifer Hudson, Cate Blanchett, Victoria Beckham, Bill Murray, Boris Johnson and Mo Farah to name but a few. Some of these are in his recent monograph, NOT JUST PICTURES. ‘If you know how to do what I do, you can make anyone forget why they’re there, and when you reach that moment, all kinds of secrets reveal themselves.”

Chris and his photography feature in a 6-part series, “Icon: Music Through the Lens”, described as a “rollercoaster ride through the rich history and cultural impact of music photography”, showing on SKYArts.

Perpetually interested in people, he is committed to creating poignant and thought-provoking imagery, such as his award-winning covers for Men’s Health, dedicated to the male mental health crisis and featuring portraits of pupils from the Oasis Academy in South London. Other recent cover commissions focus on Black Lives Matter (accidental) hero Patrick Hutchinson and Gareth Thomas discussing masculinity and life with HIV.

He also happens to make a mean Manhattan.
