Chris Floyd was commissioned by Idler to capture this awesome series of portraits of pop legend Lawrence at his flat near Old Street in London just before Xmas 2022.
Lawrence is, "the reclusive would-be superstar behind the cult 80s indie band Felt, the 90s Britpop pioneers Denim and the noughties “b-sides only” outfit Go-Kart Mozart. Returning as Mozart Estate, Lawrence has put such topical themes as poverty, homelessness, mindless consumerism and the rise of the cashless society to a novelty pop beat on his first masterpiece, 2023’s Pop-Up!
