CHRIS FLOYD captures the spirit and stories of the tailoring companies of Savile Row, in this lovely commission for DUTCH FINANCIAL DAILY.
The doors of Anderson & Sheppard, Huntsman, and Banshee, were opened and Chris was welcomed, “with such warmth and bottomless pots of tea, as well as the occasional sip of something stronger”.
In Chris’s words, “My favourite little artefact (last picture): From Anderson & Sheppard’s ledgers, Marlene Dietrich’s 1937 measurements and order for a man’s suit. Notice that in the column on the left the customer is asked to write who they were referred by. In Ms Dietrich’s case the referrer was Douglas Fairbanks Jr.”
CHRIS FLOYD shot 23 year old Welsh rugby winger turned American Football receiver LOUIS REES-ZAMMIT in his home town of Penarth for the new issue of MEN'S HEALTH.
LRZ recently made his pre-season debut for the Kansas City Chiefs in a game against Jacksonville Jaguars. Good luck to him in his future #NFL career.
Congratulations Chris and team - such a great series of portraits 🙌

“Hello Boyos!”
Delighted to share these lovely portraits of folk in their pants captured by CHRIS FLOYD as part of his recent commission for PATRICK GRANT and the amazing COMMUNITY CLOTHING.
You can read a brief story of the pants in our previous blog post (here) 🏴 🩲⚡️!
CHRIS FLOYD was commissioned by Sewing Bee judge / Head “Boyo” at COMMUNITY CLOTHING, PATRICK GRANT, to produce this lush film for their new range of 🏴🩲 WELSH PANTS 🩲🏴✨.
Chris and his team filmed in the Welsh valleys and villages - capturing pants along with designers, makers and wearers for the new range of undies!
There’s a really interesting story behind it all…
“Not many people know this, but until not that long ago the best pants in the world were made in Wales - in towns like Aberbargoed, Ystalyfera, Rhymney and New Tredegar.
They made the Wonderbra in Pontllanfraith.
But then one by one the factories closed and a proud manufacturing tradition was lost. But the people and their wonderful skills remain.
Community Clothing makes clothes in 42 factories across the UK. But in the past they have always worked with existing factories, filling spare capacity. Now they’re trying to restart major manufacturing from scratch.
To get production off the ground Community Clothing needs orders. Customers are asked to pre-order through the campaign website and the ambitious brand is hoping to secure orders for 10,000 pieces of underwear.
If the target is reached then Community Clothing will use that to kickstart regular production and it is hoped that this will lead to as many as 50 skilled staff being brought back to the sewing room in the short term. “
Fabulous film 🙌 ! Impeccable pants! (We’ve got ours on pre-order - get yours here!)

Proof that good things come to those who wait…!
In early 2020, Nina Dodds started knitting this sweater, based on a design street artist Denis Meyers created to match his installation at MAUSA Vauban (Museum of Urban and Street Art).
Joseph was supposed to travel to Alsace to photograph Denis wearing the jumper at the end of March 2020, but Covid had other ideas. The shoot was rescheduled for March 2021 but the pandemic put a halt to that plan too.
Finally, in March 2022 Denis and Joseph got to shoot this stunning portrait for Joseph’s INVISIBLE JUMPERS project.
Can you read the words on the sweater? Scroll down for a closer look! 🔍
We are thrilled to announce that Joseph Ford is “FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2022” at the PX3 AWARDS in Paris - for his INVISIBLE JUMPERS project, created in collaboration with the amazing @ninadoddknits 🧶. Joseph also won a Gold and a Silver award in two other categories!
Such an inspired, imaginative and stunning series of images. The awards are massively well-deserved and we are super delighted for you Joseph 🏆🥇🎖 🙌
After seeing his Invisible Jumpers project, ARNOLD WORLDWIDE commissioned Joseph to work on a multifaceted campaign for a pharmaceutical skin care product including stills, cinemagraphs and films, using the wardrobe and location design techniques he’d developed for his personal project. Shot on location over a two month period in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and California, using real patients in both camouflaged and lifestyle scenarios, Joseph produced over 80 final assets including stills and cinemagraphs.
The overall look of the camouflage areas were developed by Joseph to ensure the patients would melt into their backgrounds and created the wardrobe brief for both stills and TVC.
The shooting process included several remote shoots completed from the UK with a live stream from the camera on set, directing models and lighting whilst his assistant in the USA physically triggered the camera. Stills and cinemagraph post-production was managed by Joseph and Flock for the US agency.
Here’s one of the concepts in full, where the twin swimmers are camouflaged and hidden in their environment to their full reveal post-treatment, living their best lives.
We are delighted to announce that Joseph Ford’s moooo-ving image portrayal of farmer Chris and his cows is a finalist in the 2022 AOP Awards Lifestyle category. 🐮 👏
Stunning portraits of the awesome EMILIA FOX captured by CHRIS FLOYD for YOU Magazine.
In Chris’s words, “Any day spent with Emilia Fox is a day made lighter, brighter and more funner (as my kids would say), especially is she is the only person I know who gets more excited than I do at the thought of getting lunch from Prêt.”
Mango pots with lime bits all round! 🥭
