Introducing a series of a short films by PHIL FISK entitled INSIDE OUT, showing the perspective of people’s inner lives on one side of the window and that of the outside world on the other. The films are deliberately shot in portrait format to fully frame the window.

Phil Fisk - Salt Thinking / healthcare

First glimpse of a stunning new commission captured by PHIL FISK for SALT THINKING for a worldwide campaign for a blood cancer treatment.  Shot over 2 days with 3 models, we created a contemporary, positive visual language for the product launch.  Colour and gradations all caught in camera to ensure perfect synch with the moving image sequences.

We are really proud of this beautiful body of work 🙌.

Huge thanks to ALL our wonderful team including stylist Vic Twyman, DOP / editor Adrian Wolfson and Ela Calin for her awesome retouching.

And also to Perma Collective for another fabulous, low impact production. (They also helped us to visualise the emissions generated by the shoot, which worked out at just 6% of the industry average.)

Chris Floyd - Community Clothing / Hello Boyos!

CHRIS FLOYD was commissioned by Sewing Bee judge / Head “Boyo” at COMMUNITY CLOTHING, PATRICK GRANT, to produce this lush film for their new range of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🩲 WELSH PANTS 🩲🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✨.

Chris and his team filmed in the Welsh valleys and villages - capturing pants along with designers, makers and wearers for the new range of undies!

There’s a really interesting story behind it all…

“Not many people know this, but until not that long ago the best pants in the world were made in Wales - in towns like Aberbargoed, Ystalyfera, Rhymney and New Tredegar.

They made the Wonderbra in Pontllanfraith.

But then one by one the factories closed and a proud manufacturing tradition was lost. But the people and their wonderful skills remain.

Community Clothing makes clothes in 42 factories across the UK. But in the past they have always worked with existing factories, filling spare capacity. Now they’re trying to restart major manufacturing from scratch.

To get production off the ground Community Clothing needs orders. Customers are asked to pre-order through the campaign website and the ambitious brand is hoping to secure orders for 10,000 pieces of underwear.

If the target is reached then Community Clothing will use that to kickstart regular production and it is hoped that this will lead to as many as 50 skilled staff being brought back to the sewing room in the short term.

Fabulous film 🙌 ! Impeccable pants! (We’ve got ours on pre-order - get yours here!)

Phil Fisk - The Grove / London Short Film Festival

We are delighted to announce that Phil Fisk's documentary film "The Grove", made the Official Selection, and will be showing at the London Short Film Festival on 26th January at Curzon Soho.

Short largely during the first couple of years of the Covid pandemic, Phil's film focusses on "an abandoned pub carpark on the A205 in South London, [where] local kids are creating ramps and an assortment of skate park structures, splicing old gas canisters, wooden planks, pallets, bags of cement, rubble, drinks cans, abandoned sofas - anything and everything, to create their own home-grown skatepark - and likewise establish a safe place for themselves, away from the traffic, the pandemic and authority."

More info here and here - and you can read about the full lineup of events here.

And of course you can watch “The Grove” on our website here. It’s a beautiful, contemplative film - and well worth a watch! 🙌

Chris Floyd - Leona Naess / If A Song

In the mid-lockdown summer of 2020 CHRIS FLOYD shot this lovely film with his good friend, singer/songwriter LEONA NAESS on a remote mountain track in Switzerland.

Here are some very moving words from Leona about the experience... "Thank you @chrisfloyd for jumping on many trains to get to me during the summer of lockdown. All we had was a camera, the mountains and our imagination. I wish I had taken a photo of Chris laying on top of the car, holding his camera (without a steady cam) while someone drove it down a rocky fire road. The concept - we shed our layers as we grow and become, while we are busy chasing our dreams and the people we love. In the end, we learn that we have to let them go, in order to figure it out on our own. I guess the video is a metaphor for growing up. Nothing brings that harsh reality to light more then losing both your parents. I wanted this song to be empowering and anthemic. To inspire someone to get going with living. Its not sad. It’s a force!!!"

It’s now the new single from Leona’s gorgeous, melodic album ‘BROOD X’.

Chris Floyd - GSK / Haleon - motion

Joseph Ford - Denis Meyers / MAUSA Vauban and an Invisible Jumper 🧶

Proof that good things come to those who wait…!

In early 2020, Nina Dodds started knitting this sweater, based on a design street artist Denis Meyers created to match his installation at MAUSA Vauban (Museum of Urban and Street Art).

Joseph was supposed to travel to Alsace to photograph Denis wearing the jumper at the end of March 2020, but Covid had other ideas. The shoot was rescheduled for March 2021 but the pandemic put a halt to that plan too.

Finally, in March 2022 Denis and Joseph got to shoot this stunning portrait for Joseph’s INVISIBLE JUMPERS project.

Can you read the words on the sweater? Scroll down for a closer look! 🔍

Joseph Ford - Arnold Worldwide

After seeing his Invisible Jumpers project, ARNOLD WORLDWIDE commissioned Joseph to work on a multifaceted campaign for a pharmaceutical skin care product including stills, cinemagraphs and films, using the wardrobe and location design techniques he’d developed for his personal project.  Shot on location over a two month period in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and California, using real patients in both camouflaged and lifestyle scenarios, Joseph produced over 80 final assets including stills and cinemagraphs.

The overall look of the camouflage areas were developed by Joseph to ensure the patients would melt into their backgrounds and created the wardrobe brief for both stills and TVC.

The shooting process included several remote shoots completed from the UK with a live stream from the camera on set, directing models and lighting whilst his assistant in the USA physically triggered the camera. Stills and cinemagraph post-production was managed by Joseph and Flock for the US agency.

Here’s one of the concepts in full, where the twin swimmers are camouflaged and hidden in their environment to their full reveal post-treatment, living their best lives.

Phil Fisk - The Grove / AOP Awards

During the lockdowns of 2020 (when official skateparks were closed), a group of enterprising skaters found an abandoned car park near the South Circular and established the beginnings of “The Grove”…

Phil Fisk captured the story of the space in this wonderful film, which we are delighted to announce is a finalist in the Documentary Category at this year’s AOP Awards

In an abandoned pub carpark on the A205 in South London, local kids were creating ramps and an assortment of skate park structures, splicing old gas canisters, wooden planks, pallets, bags of cement, rubble, drinks cans, abandoned sofas - anything and everything, to create their own home-grown skatepark - and likewise establish a safe place for themselves, away from the traffic, the pandemic and authority.

Safe… if you discount the odd broken wrist and elbow graze.

Safe… as an outdoor space where anyone with or without a board could hang out.

Initially they were chased away by security guards but soon found support for their endeavours from local residents, councillors and even Dulwich College Estate who own the land.

Phil filmed the steady transformation of the abandoned space, during the days and nights as winter drew in - “trying to capture the atmosphere, tricks (and constructions) as they happened without interfering with the natural flow of the space.”

The film opens with a shot of the sun coming up over a large tree… set against a soundscape of distant traffic, scrapes and clatters, skateboard wheels rolling over concrete and snippets of caught conversation, the resulting film is beautiful, contemplative and ultimately hopeful…

Phil hopes it, “feels something like a compressed day in the life of The Grove in which 6 months feels like 24 hours.”

Although the future is uncertain, it looks as if, for now, The Grove is here to stay…
