Chris Floyd - Jessie Cave / Idler

Chris Floyd shoots Harry Potter star turned novelist, artist, comedian and mother… the amazing JESSIE CAVE for IDLER.

Chris was keen to capture scenes, ”from inside his head… A solipsistic, melancholic and ethereal character from a movie length edition of a mid 70s episode of Columbo. Or maybe ‘Murder She Wrote’. “

Jessie, “once again, wanted to wear a subtle outfit and create a pose that screamed “SERIOUS NOVELIST”.”

Here are the resulting images… 💜💚💛💙

Joseph Ford - L'Art du Fil

Delighted to share this stunning publication featuring images from the "knitted camouflage" collaborative project between Joseph Ford and creative knitter, Nina Dodd.

"L'ART DU FIL" is a sumptuous collection of colourful and richly textured textile art and is available in all good bookshops.

Huge thanks to Marie-Madeleine Massé and @editionsalternatives for featuring the work, and to @ninadoddknits for the amazing creative collaborations, as always 🍉 🧶 💚💛❤️

Chris Floyd - Patrick Grant / BMW

BMW commission CHRIS FLOYD to shoot designer PATRICK GRANT for a short film and photography series entitled "SUNDAY DRIVE". Below are selected images from their adventures through the Forest of Bowland, accompanied by a flask of coffee, some Honeywell’s sausage rolls and a 1920’s Bakelite picnic set that was “heavier than the both of us combined.”

Phil Fisk - BAFTA / Sandy Powell

PHIL shoots award-winning costume designer SANDY POWELL OBE for his series “FOR THE LOVE OF FILM” for BAFTA.
This beautiful atelier-style set was created by Vicky Twyman with input from Sandy, and features several bespoke 'toiles' or fitting prototypes, including two of her actual designs from the film THE FAVOURITE.
At BAFTA 2020 Sandy wore a calico template suit, got 100+ A-list stars to sign it, then raffled it off... raising enough money to protect Prospect Cottage, her mentor Derek Jarman's Dungeness home.

Chris Floyd - Men's Health - PPE

CHRIS FLOYD shoots on location during lockdown for MEN’S HEALTH for a feature on 3 British manufacturers who have repurposed their production lines to create items of PPE for the NHS during the Covid 19 crisis.

COMMUNITY CLOTHING in Blackburn, Lancashire, who usually manufacture beautifully made items of affordable, sustainable and ethical men’s and women’s clothing turned their business towards making urgently needed NHS scrubs.

STAEGER CLEAR in Coventry switched from making things like shirt collar stiffeners and Easter egg cases to making a face visor of their own design.

INTERFLEX in Nottingham had also halted all their normal plastic packaging work and were producing disposable plastic aprons at a phenomenal rate.

A staggering and inspirational contribution from all 3 companies, especially as their undertakings were in the face of significant bureaucratic and logistical challenges. WE SALUTE YOU!

For inspiration, Chris took the 1950s photography of the great Maurice Broomfield, who so beautifully documented the last golden age of British manufacturing. “I’ve loved Broomfield’s work for a long time and this seemed like the obvious opportunity to pay tribute to it.”

Chris Floyd - Stylist / Shauna Coxsey

HANGING IN THERE...
CHRIS FLOYD photographs OLYMPIC climbing hopeful SHAUNA COXSEY for the 500th issue of STYLIST MAGAZINE.

"A few weeks ago I travelled up to Sheffield on a freezing cold morning to spend the day inside a building made entirely of chipboard and leftover bits of furniture adornment from the Memphis Milano design movement. Inside we were thrilled by the sight of Shauna Coxsey, in the finest SS20 fashions, as she clambered and scampered over every surface of the chipboard palace in this shoot for the 500th issue of Stylist Magazine."

Styling by Helen Atkin.

Joseph Ford - The Making of "Paperboy"!

"PaperBoy" was over 2 years in development.  His suit took over a year to create using many rolls of paper, glue and tape (as well as a good deal of blood sweat and tears!).  The shoot took place over 2 days on location in Brighton with locals stopping for selfies on the beach with the extraordinary blue Paperboy!

Our amazingly calm and patient model Sid, spent 2 days sealed inside his paper suit, unable to hear (or see properly) through the close-fitting mask.  At one point almost taking a wrong turn into the sea which would have been disastrous!

Huge thanks to Jaina Minton, Laura Walters, Amelia Ellison, Sid Hanson-Kahn, Woody Cook, Lucas Bonacorso, Jack Cox, George Laycock, Georgia Meinert, Poppy Gooch, Jonny, James Hole, Captain Seadogs Barber Shop and to Fatboy Slim for kindly allowing use of his music for the soundtrack.

Take a look behind the scenes at "the making of PAPERBOY"...

Joseph Ford - Schön Magazine / Paperboy - FILM

A breath-taking new commission by JOSEPH FORD for SCHÖN MAGAZINE.

Exploring the challenges of teen life, Paperboy is a metaphor for being a little bit different.

The amazing Jaina Minton dedicated an unreasonable amount of her time (blood, sweat and tears!) to creating Paperboy’s suit. Huge shout out to Sid who managed to keep calm inside the Paperboy suit for two days!
