Chris Floyd - "Something Out of Nothing" Podcast

CHRIS FLOYD chats to SI and NEIL on their SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING podcast, "exploring the nature of creativity".

A wonderfully free-ranging conversation in which CHRIS talks candidly about the processes and dynamics of getting a photograph that reveals a truth about his subject. And shares a handful of the stories that will be featuring in his forthcoming book (watch this space for more on that soon!)

In Chris’s words… "I think he is clever, deep and brilliant, and I wanted to show it” - on GRAHAM NORTON (portrait below) as referenced in the conversation.

It’s all well worth a listen! Link here.

Chris Floyd - Emilia Fox

Stunning portraits of the awesome EMILIA FOX captured by CHRIS FLOYD for YOU Magazine.

In Chris’s words, “Any day spent with Emilia Fox is a day made lighter, brighter and more funner (as my kids would say), especially is she is the only person I know who gets more excited than I do at the thought of getting lunch from Prêt.”

Mango pots with lime bits all round! 🥭

Chris Floyd - Victoria Derbyshire

Chris Floyd photographed journalist and news anchor VICTORIA DERBYSHIRE for YOU Magazine. She has made it a mission to speak out about her experience of domestic abuse and breast cancer, and "why living through the worst of times has made her determined never to be angry".

Chris Floyd - Jessie Cave / Idler

Chris Floyd shoots Harry Potter star turned novelist, artist, comedian and mother… the amazing JESSIE CAVE for IDLER.

Chris was keen to capture scenes, ”from inside his head… A solipsistic, melancholic and ethereal character from a movie length edition of a mid 70s episode of Columbo. Or maybe ‘Murder She Wrote’. “

Jessie, “once again, wanted to wear a subtle outfit and create a pose that screamed “SERIOUS NOVELIST”.”

Here are the resulting images… 💜💚💛💙

Chris Floyd - Glenfiddich / David Aiu Servan-Schreiber

CHRIS FLOYD recently worked with artist DAVID AIU SERVAN-SCHREIBER on a project for GLENFIDDICH.

David "does things with wood, extreme heat, paint and gold leaf that are out of this world", and in this instance created a stunning limited-edition artwork adorning the packaging of this opulent 26 year old whisky (which has been finished in rare French cognac casks).... #mmmmmmm!

Chris Floyd - Marcus Rashford / Men's Health

CHRIS FLOYD shoots the awesome MARCUS RASHFORD for the June issue of MEN'S HEALTH.
"Over the past year, the professional footballer and activist has successfully pressured the UK government to change its policy on free school meals, become the third youngest Manchester United player to score 50 Premier League goals, been appointed England Captain and awarded an OBE".

In Chris's words...
"Marcus manages to reconcile personal ambition and social conscience with ease. This is a man who combines drive with humility, activism with politesse. Everyone likes Marcus Rashford. Because he's authentic. I also counted about 20 knackered old footballs in his garden, in hedges, behind fences and one even impaled on a shed roof. Just like you and me."

Chris Floyd - Jack Savoretti / Europiana

LA VITA BELLA...
Late last summer CHRIS FLOYD took a trip to Portofino, the jewel of the Italian Riviera, to shoot with JACK SAVORETTI for his new album, EUROPIANA.

In Chris's words...
"Jack spent all his childhood summers in Portfino and the whole vibe of the album is a quest to recapture that feeling you had in your younger years when the summers never seemed to end and the thrill and excitement of going out, dancing and meeting new people was wide open and there for the taking."

* More music, images and artwork to be released over the coming months

Chris Floyd - Patrick Grant / BMW

BMW commission CHRIS FLOYD to shoot designer PATRICK GRANT for a short film and photography series entitled "SUNDAY DRIVE". Below are selected images from their adventures through the Forest of Bowland, accompanied by a flask of coffee, some Honeywell’s sausage rolls and a 1920’s Bakelite picnic set that was “heavier than the both of us combined.”
