Their daughter, Flora, was killed on Pan Am Flight 103, which exploded over the border town of Lockerbie, 38 minutes after take off from London to New York on 21st December 1988.

Chris Floyd - Community Clothing - Welsh Pants 🩲

Chris Floyd - Community Clothing / Hello Boyos!

CHRIS FLOYD was commissioned by Sewing Bee judge / Head “Boyo” at COMMUNITY CLOTHING, PATRICK GRANT, to produce this lush film for their new range of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🩲 WELSH PANTS 🩲🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿✨.

Chris and his team filmed in the Welsh valleys and villages - capturing pants along with designers, makers and wearers for the new range of undies!

There’s a really interesting story behind it all…

“Not many people know this, but until not that long ago the best pants in the world were made in Wales - in towns like Aberbargoed, Ystalyfera, Rhymney and New Tredegar.

They made the Wonderbra in Pontllanfraith.

But then one by one the factories closed and a proud manufacturing tradition was lost. But the people and their wonderful skills remain.

Community Clothing makes clothes in 42 factories across the UK. But in the past they have always worked with existing factories, filling spare capacity. Now they’re trying to restart major manufacturing from scratch.

To get production off the ground Community Clothing needs orders. Customers are asked to pre-order through the campaign website and the ambitious brand is hoping to secure orders for 10,000 pieces of underwear.

If the target is reached then Community Clothing will use that to kickstart regular production and it is hoped that this will lead to as many as 50 skilled staff being brought back to the sewing room in the short term.

Fabulous film 🙌 ! Impeccable pants! (We’ve got ours on pre-order - get yours here!)

“You don't have to work with a camera to learn from world-class photographer Chris Floyd's success. We chat with him about the importance of persistence, why you should trust your instincts, and why relationships are so important.”

Chris describes the moment of his first big break…

“I was in Marks & Spencer buying socks, and he called me to say: 'Can you do a job for us?' And it was the greatest feeling in the world."

It all started there, among the M&S hosiery, and he never looked back! You can read the full article below.

Chris Floyd - Zapata Ranch

CHRIS FLOYD recently spent several days shooting at the wildly beautiful ZAPATA RANCH near Alamosa, Colorado. A glorious world of “cowgirls, cowboys, horses, cattle, trucks, denim, stetsons, leather goods, steaks, mountain ranges and bison”.

There he met with Kate Matheson, who he used to work with in the early 2000s when she was a picture editor at Conde Nast magazines in London. About 15 years ago she gave it all up, and in her own words, “arrived at the ranch with a suitcase of clothes and a Le Creuset pot, I got my best friend Pepe and my dream truck not long after. I’ll be leaving with a husband, 7 horses, 3 dogs, two babies and a chicken if we can catch her and at least 2 novels worth of stories.”

Next month she is leaving Colorado to move to Montana with her family, where they are taking over the running of her husband’s family’s ranch. Kate is pictured in the last 3 images and you can hear her story on the Ranchlands podcast here.

Fabulous photos Chris! Such a beautiful insight into ranch life in the American midwest.

Lawrence is, "the reclusive would-be superstar behind the cult 80s indie band Felt, the 90s Britpop pioneers Denim and the noughties “b-sides only” outfit Go-Kart Mozart. Returning as Mozart Estate, Lawrence has put such topical themes as poverty, homelessness, mindless consumerism and the rise of the cashless society to a novelty pop beat on his first masterpiece, 2023’s Pop-Up! Chris Floyd - Leona Naess / If A Song

In the mid-lockdown summer of 2020 CHRIS FLOYD shot this lovely film with his good friend, singer/songwriter LEONA NAESS on a remote mountain track in Switzerland.

Here are some very moving words from Leona about the experience... "Thank you @chrisfloyd for jumping on many trains to get to me during the summer of lockdown. All we had was a camera, the mountains and our imagination. I wish I had taken a photo of Chris laying on top of the car, holding his camera (without a steady cam) while someone drove it down a rocky fire road. The concept - we shed our layers as we grow and become, while we are busy chasing our dreams and the people we love. In the end, we learn that we have to let them go, in order to figure it out on our own. I guess the video is a metaphor for growing up. Nothing brings that harsh reality to light more then losing both your parents. I wanted this song to be empowering and anthemic. To inspire someone to get going with living. Its not sad. It’s a force!!!"

It’s now the new single from Leona’s gorgeous, melodic album ‘BROOD X’.
